Race equipment, weights, and more
Concept2 SkiErgs and rowers, sleds, wall balls with targets, sandbags, and turf. The wall balls and kettlebells go past competition weight, so race day feels lighter than training.
What the race is.
Eight 1 km runs, each one into a station. Same format and same standards in Allentown, Austin, or Tokyo, so your time is comparable anywhere.
Start1 km run into every station
- SkiErg
- Sled Push
- Sled Pull
- Burpee Broad Jump
- Row
- Farmers Carry
- Sandbag Lunges
- Wall Balls
Finish
None of these eight exercises are exotic. All of them will hurt when they stack for an hour, which is why you can be a strong lifter and a strong runner and still fall apart the first time you sled-push straight off of a 1k run. Moving between efforts while tired is the trainable skill, and it is what F13 programming targets.

Raced your first HYROX? Ready to go faster?
F13 is an official HYROX gym, and we run a race prep program for individual and doubles racers. Ten spots.
Our athletes race. A lot.
24 F13 athletes raced HYROX Washington D.C. across one September weekend.

Some members ran their first race after joining. Others came looking for somewhere to train for a first race and joined because of it. Either way, enough people here have raced that you can ask the room and get a straight answer.
Our training and your training.
On your own
- Open 24 hours, so you train when it suits you
- Every piece of equipment, no booking and no set schedule
- Build your own stations wherever you want them, nothing is fixed to a layout
- Run your own sessions and simulate on your own clock
In class
- The HYROX work is built into the programming, race or no race
- Newer athletes get the weights and movements scaled down
- Racing soon? Competition weight, and the transitions worked while you are already tired
Most people do both. Class on the days you want the thinking handled, and open gym on the days you already have a plan.

Who's behind it.
Rob and Payton have coached HYROX athletes for years.
Coach Sammie has raced HYROX several times herself and is a Doctor of Physical Therapy. In a race that finishes with lunges under full fatigue, that is worth having in the gym.
Coach Stephen has coached for over a decade, holds a USAW Level 1, and still competes.
FAQ.
Is there HYROX training in Allentown, PA?
Yes. F13 Performance at 4630 Broadway is the only HYROX training club in Allentown, listed on HYROX's own training club finder.
What is HYROX?
A fitness race combining eight one-kilometer runs with eight functional workouts: SkiErg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmer carry, sandbag lunges and wall balls. The format is standardized worldwide, so a time set anywhere is comparable to a time set anywhere else.
Do I need to be in shape to start?
No. The loads and intervals scale, and progression comes from the programming over weeks rather than from surviving a race-pace session on day one.
Can I train on my own, or do I have to take classes?
On your own, 24 hours a day. Coaching is available when you want it and is not required to use the equipment.
What HYROX equipment do you have?
Concept2 SkiErgs and rowers, the same machines used at the race. Sleds, wall balls, and loading for carries, on 4,000 square feet of training space.
Do any elite HYROX athletes train at F13?
Yes. HYROX Elite athlete and Pro division race winner Jack Driscoll trains at F13, and 24 F13 athletes raced HYROX Washington D.C. across one September weekend.
Can I train heavier than race weight?
Yes. The wall balls and kettlebells go above competition weight, and the main gym is through the same door. Nothing here caps what you train at.
Come train on it.
Come see the gym before you decide anything. Walk through it, look at the equipment, and compare the membership options while you are standing in the room.
