What are your hours?

We're open 24/7, every single day. No holidays, no closures. Download our app and you can walk into either gym whenever you want. Staffed hours: Weekdays 9am–7pm, Weekends 9am–5pm.

How much does a membership cost?

Open Gym Membership starts at $85/month. We also have F13 Unlimited, F13 Classes, Sport Performance programs, and 1-on-1 Personal Training. Not sure which is right for you? Fill out the contact form and we'll figure it out together — no pressure.

Can I try a class before joining?

Accepted Answer

Yes — your first F13 class is on us. Each class is about an hour. Fill out the contact form and select 'Free F13 Trial Class' and we'll take it from there. Class times Mon–Fri: 5am, 6am, 7am, 9am, 12pm, 4pm, 5pm, 6pm. Saturday: 9am.

What is F13?

F13 is our performance center — it sits right with Resistance Strength and runs as its own thing. You've got Olympic platforms, 20 squat racks, turf, bumper plates, and HYROX conditioning equipment. Classes are coached and programming is built with a purpose. Whether you're an athlete in the off-season, training for a HYROX event, or just tired of winging it — F13 gives you a real plan.

Do I need experience to join?

Nope. We get people walking in for the first time every week and they fit right in. Coaches know your name, people look out for each other, and there's no room for ego. It's hard work, good people, and a culture that actually makes you want to show up.

What kind of equipment do you have?

We run custom Watson Strength machines throughout the floor — equipment you won't find at most gyms. Metallic dumbbells up to 150 lbs, a dedicated deadlift platform with calibrated plates, squat racks, and a full machine and free weight selection. Everything is cleaned and maintained daily.

Is there personal training available?

Where are you located?

4630 Broadway, Allentown, PA 18104. Plenty of parking out front. F13 is right out back behind Resistance Strength — both are under the same roof.

Do you actually cap memberships?

Yes, we do — on purpose. When a gym gets too crowded the experience suffers, and that's not what we're about. If we're full when you reach out, you can sign up for our waitlist and we'll contact you as soon as a spot opens up.

Do members get access to both Resistance Strength and F13?

What is the 4S Method?

It's how F13 programs its training — Strength, Stability, Skill, and Sweat. Each block is built around these four pillars so you're developing across everything that matters, not just grinding the same movements week after week.

What if I miss an F13 class?

Life happens. The schedule runs multiple slots throughout the day so you can usually make it up the same day. If you miss a full week, programming picks up where you left off — you won't be lost.

How is F13 different from CrossFit?

F13 is structured performance training, not random daily workouts. Programming is planned with purpose and built to progress over time. Class sizes are smaller, the equipment is better, and you're not going to find a surprise gymnastics workout on a Thursday.

What do I need to bring to an F13 class?

Just yourself — water bottle, workout clothes, and shoes. All equipment is provided. If you're coming for a trial class, show up 10 minutes early so we can get you set up.

Is Resistance Strength a good gym for beginners?

Yes. Most new members walk in with some experience and some don't — both groups do well here because the floor is built for training, not intimidation. The coaching team is on the floor every day, and F13 and 1-on-1 sessions are both built to start you from wherever you are. People look out for each other here. Nobody is being judged for what they lift.

What makes Watson equipment different from standard gym machines?

Watson is hand-assembled in the UK to commercial-grade tolerances — the same machines elite powerlifters and bodybuilders train on worldwide. Every pivot, every handle, every angle is engineered to match how the body actually moves under load, which is why the lifts feel different on the first rep. Standard chain-gym machines are budget-tier and lose smoothness within a few years. Watson is designed to stay tight and true for three decades.

Can I train for powerlifting or bodybuilding at Resistance Strength?

Yes — both. The main floor is equipped for serious powerlifting (calibrated plates, dedicated deadlift platform, Texas Power Bars, eleven racks) and serious bodybuilding (a full Watson strength machine floor with angle adjustments, metallic dumbbells to 150 lbs, a 16-cable station with 180-degree pulley range). Rob, the owner, has coached both disciplines for thirty years.

Is there a coach on the floor if I need form help?

Yes. Someone from the coaching team is on the floor during staffed hours, 9 AM to 7 PM weekdays and 9 AM to 5 PM weekends. If you have a question about a lift, an adjustment, or how to set up a machine, you can pull them over. Outside staffed hours the gym stays open 24/7 through the app, so you always have the option to come back during staffed hours if you want hands-on help.

Is it safe to come in at 3 AM?

Yes. The front door only opens through the gym app, so every entry is logged and only active members can get in. The space is well-lit inside and out, the parking lot is directly at the door, and the interior has camera coverage for after-hours accountability. Capped membership also means the roster is small and familiar; off-hours regulars tend to recognize each other.

How does the waitlist work if you're at capacity?

When the member cap is hit we open a waitlist. Spots open in the order requests came in — when one opens up, we text the next person on the list with a short window to confirm before moving to the next name. Join by filling out the contact form or texting 484-891-0840. We keep the waitlist active and honest; we won't quietly expand the cap to get you in faster.

How is F13 different from a typical group fitness class?

F13 runs structured 12-week training blocks with progression built in — not daily surprise workouts. Sessions are capped at a small group size so coaches can adjust movement, load, and tempo for each member in real time. Coaches are credentialed strength professionals (USAW, PT/DPT, Exercise Science degrees), not rotating group-fitness instructors. The emphasis is strength and performance over random conditioning.
